Have I told you gize how my littlest child is OBSESSED with Halloween? No? Well, yeeeeah. I kid you not when I say he's been talking about it for a whole year since the LAST Halloween. And now that we just finished another, something like this happens:
Char was asked to give the prayer in primary today. I completely forgot and also figgered the kid can do it by himself, right? He asks for plenty of "bless us to have lots of cuddle-wuddles", or "bless papa to come home from the hospital", or "thanks for that I don't have to get a shot" and stuff like that at home. So, he's good to go. Well, as I round the corner in the church today heading for the primary room, one of the presidency (Hi Molly!) tells me all excitedly what Charlie had to say in his prayer today.
"I'm thankful for Halloween and I am thankful for trick or treating and I am sad that it is over. In the name.........."
So, my question in this. How in the aych am I going to be able to make this kid wait a year for another Halloween? He's even asking for "halloween stuff" on his Christmas list.
ps. He also told me today that Turkey's like to be killed so we can eat them. And followed with a, "I think I'm right, mom."

That is awesome! Why don't any of the kids in my primary say cool stuff like that? He truly loves and cares about Halloween. That is the message of love. The only thing that would be cooler than that is if an adult was whispering that in his ear. Am I right, or am I right? I totally want to do that now.
That is so funny! I love it when kids say the crazy prayers, it always makes me giggle inside! :)
It's nice to know someone so young already has focus, so many kids now are growing up with no cares and become such slackers, we need kids like him who know what they want and strive to get it. I can't blame him for liking Halloween so much, I mean really, a holiday that is all about candy, and more candy, and maybe just one more piece. Right?
Katie you are so right. It would have been even better if I was there telling him to say that, right? And Case thanks for that. I hadn't thought of it that way but it's true: the kid has drive. HA
I'm pretty sure "gobble gobble" are Native American words for "cut off my head and replace my guts with stuffing."
That is great! I love that kids can get away with saying anything they want.
And in answer to your question, we were visiting the oaks ward yesterday. Due to a tournament we had to miss our ward, Bad I know! Do you think I should talk to my bishop about that :)
Heavenly Father likes it when we tell him the things we are TRULY thankful for. I'm sure he gets sick of all the phony thank yous. Like when people thank him for the "moisture". No one likes a rainy day, they aren't really thankful for it, they're just trying to look like they are the type that sees the good in all things.
Way TOO funny. It doesn't have to be Halloween to go Trick or treating, my older siblings did it, then some lady called my mom and chewed her out cause she didn't know where her kids were.
Don't you know why we all love your little one? His wisdom is priceless (we hear all kinds of stories every week after church). Oh, he is totally right about the turkeys, too. It's only a few that complained about not getting to stretch so much. :)
I guess all you can do is continue to google "Creepy alien images" and let the boy peruse. Hopefully that will satisfy him for awhile.
Therapy might also be an option.
I agree with HotPants, moisture is lamerz.
Kristi- I need to hear those stories. Or maybe I don't. I'll be too embarrassed. I'm gonna keep therapy in mind.
What a character! Super cute prayer.
I love that kid! That is hilarious. I can't wait to squeeze the Halloween adict.
What a cutie! I think it is one of the great things about blogging that if you are not a journal keeper you have all these cute little memories recorded.
I laughed out loud when I read this and didn't think it was a bit strange. . . .for him. His honesty is refreshing. I've often wanted to publicly be thankful for Jaimoca Almond Fudge ice cream but felt I'd be ridiculed. You go Charlie!!
I Love Kiddy Prayers! They are the Best!
That boy kills me! I would have paid money to hear that prayer. SO funny!
My public prayers are awkward like that. I DREAD it if I get asked to say prayer in church. I said the lamest prayer in Sunday school the other day, including a 30 second pause in the middle, during which I drew a blank. It was horrifying.
Emily, the scripture this month in primary states that we should thank the Lord in all things. :)
It really was soo cute! He was so proud of himself, I mean after all what a great prayer. He just helps to spice primary up a little bit. It was great!
